PROFESSIONAL HISTORY

 

Safety Advisor Rio Tinto Kennecott Copper, SLC, UT April 2012 to December 2015 

Ensured contractors where in compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental regulations that met OSHA and MSHA standards. Conducted administrative and field audit inspections and assessments. Assisted with development and implementation of HSE training programs and critical tracking controls. Responsible to Interpreted HSE standards in the field and provided clarifications as needed to contactors. Assisted with the implementation of Rio Tinto HSE standard and supported the reporting and investigation of injury or incidents onsite. 

 

Safety Manager Wollam Construction October 2011 to April 2012 

Implemented HSE standards and communicated effectively with supervisors and peers. Managed the reporting and investigation of injuries and incidents, maintained good employee relations and was a team leader. Trained employees on fall protection, lock out tag out, confined space and OSHA 10/30. 

Safety Supervisor Rosendin Electric Hillsboro, OR June 2010- October 2011 

Responsible for the general site safety meetings and communication with management and crew members. Conducted fall protection training, lock and tag out training, and confined space training. Trained crew members on equipment such as JLG, forklifts, crane and scissor lifts. Attended management meetings to communicate and abate safety hazards. Oversaw electrical and general site safety, I was recognized for strong safety awareness, problem solving abilities and my knowledge of OSHA regulations. 

 

Safety Officer Bodell Construction, SLC, UT February 2005- April 2010 

Helped implement a new safety and health plan witch included a handbook and PowerPoint. Responsible for reviewing and approving job safety assessments for subcontractor new to the project. Accountable for incident reporting and incident investigations, examined PPE of personnel to insure compliance. 

 

Safety Coordinator Jacobsen Construction, SLC, UT February 2000 to January 2005 

Implemented and directed safety protocols to identify solutions to safety issues. Organized equipment and safety training programs including drug screening for the company. Responsible for conducting risk assessment and risk management efforts relative to job site safety. Communicated and worked effectively with superiors, peers, and subcontractors to complete all tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
